Gold-Secrets.com Vs WarcraftWealth.com
Claims, claims, claims...
You see all sorts of them...
"Our offer converts better than anyone else" and that offer couldn't convert even relatives...
"Our top affiliate makes 40,000 USD" and if you research a bit you see that the total volume is about 1,000 USD...
That's why we wanted to present you with some solid proof that will back-up our own claims of conversion.
We decided to split-test WarcraftWealth.com against the most popular offer in CB Marketplace: Gold-Secrets.com.
The Setup Of The Experiment
We decided to use a very popular solution to help us split-test the two offers: Google Website Optimizer.
We created two pages:
 The control - a "secret" page with the WarcraftWealth letter, where we could send only our traffic

The variation - another "secret" page on our website that redirects the traffic to the Gold-Secrets offer, through our affiliate link.

The logic is very simple: Google Website Optimizer splits our traffic between the two offers.
However, because we can't put a "cookie" on Gold-Secrets "thank you" page, we used an affiliate link to count the conversions. For the control, we've created a new product (id 7), so we measure only the conversions made from "The control".
Although this may seem a bit primitive, my experience is telling me that no system of tracking has 100% accuracy. As you'll see later, counting the conversions directly from Clickbank proved to be the most reliable solution.
The Results Of The Split-Test
We had two Clickbank time periods: 2008-05-16 -> 2008-05-31 and 2008-06-01-> 2008-06-16
First time period: 2008-05-16 -> 2008-05-31

*Note: Although the number of "sales" may seem very small for a valid test, we used the following formula:
Where "a" and "b" are the number of "sales". Theory says that if the above equation is true, the test is valid.
In our case square root of 33 is smaller than 9, so the test is valid. WarcraftWealth is better than Gold-Secrets.
Traffic:

WarcraftWealth.com: 2421 Visitors

*Note: Although you see 24 conversions for the "control" and 4 conversions for the "variation", you can pretty much neglect these values since we counted the exact sales from Clickbank.
Conversion:
GoldSecrets.com: 0.47581%
WarcraftWealth.com: 0.86741%
*Note: I know many marketers claim to convert "1 in 30" people that come to the site. That's B.S. and if you've read so far I think you agree. Conversions depend on traffic being sent. And you can't really find consistent tons of ultra-targeted traffic...
Conclusions
WarcraftWealth.com converts better than Gold-Secrets.com by 82.301759%. It's pretty astonishing when you think that Gold-Secrets.com is the current most popular offer in Clickbank.
This means that for every 100 sales you get on Gold-Secrets.com you would get 182.30 sales on WarcraftWealth.com using the exact same traffic.
And that's just the conversion part. The profit is a totally different story...
Let's take this scenario:
You pay 500 USD a month on advertising and you get 30 affiliate sales for Gold-Secrets.com. That means the gross is 747.6 USD and you make a profit of about 247.6 USD a month.
If you were to send the same traffic to WarcraftWealth, you would have made about 54.71 sales. Your gross would be 1363.56 USD and your profit would be 863.56 USD.
That's well over THREE TIMES more profit!
Needless to say that we ended up the experiment asap and started again to send all our traffic to WarcraftWealth. :)
